Father Gerard MacCormack is a native of Bohermeen, where he was ordained in 1985. His first appointment after ordination was as Curate in Ratoath, where he remained until he became Curate in Navan in 1994. He was appointed Administrator at Saint Mary’s Parish in 2001. We thank him sincerely for his ministry among us, and wish him every blessing in the future.

Father Declan Hurley was ordained in 1993 in his home parish of Bohermeen. Following the completion of post-graduate studies in Rome, he served as Curate at the Cathedral and as Diocesan Secretary. He recommenced his studies at the Institute Catholique, Paris in 2003 and was awarded a Doctorate in Theology last year, when he was also appointed Curate at Saint Mary’s Parish, Navan.

Comment from Bishop Smith:

"I want to thank most sincerely our priests who are retiring from administrative duties while continuing to provide a pastoral support in the parishes. "They have generously served the Lord and His people throughout their lives. "I wish God’s blessing upon all who are taking up new responsibilities and, in this “Year for Priests”, I ask you to pray for them and work with them in proclaiming the Good News.”
