170th anniversary of St. Mary's Church - November 2008

Pictured are John Gavin, Mary Mc Grath, Virgie Tanate, Fr. Gerard Mac Cormack and Peter Tiernan at the launch of the Programme of Parish Events to mark the 170th anniversary of St. Mary's Church, Navan in 2009. among the celebrations planned are:

• An Ecumenical Service to mark Christian Unity Week;
• Mass to celebrate Bishop Smith's silver Jubilee of episcopal ordination;
• A special Mass in February for married couples;
• A parish pilgrimage to the Holy Land
• A parish mission led by the Redemptorist Fathers.
• The parish is also planning a retreat for young people, conducted by the Fransiscan Friars of the Renewal.
• A history of the parish will also be launched.
