Parish Triduum – August 2017

Fr Bryan Shortall OFM Cap will lead us in prayer and reflection during the following ceremonies of our parish Triduum on the way towards the Feast of the Assumption:

The Rosary Procession & Benediction will take place at 6:45pm on 15 August instead of 8:00pm.

Sunday 13 August:
   Sunday Mass – 1:00pm

   Blessing of Young Families – 3:00pm
   Triduum Devotions – 8:00pm

Monday 14 August:
   Morning Mass at 10:00am

   Triduum Devotions at 8:00pm

 

Tuesday 15 August:
   Feast of the Assumption:

   Masses at 8:00am, 10:00am 6:00pm
   Triduum Devotions at 6:45pm

Fr Bryan Shortall OFM. Cap. was born in Dublin in October 1969. He joined the Capuchin order in 1987 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1997. He graduated with an MA in School Chaplaincy from Mater Dei/DCU in 2004.

 

He has worked in various ministries to date, including school and hospital chaplaincy, and local leadership in the Capuchin order. Bryan is currently based in St Michan’s Parish, Halston Street.

He is interested in history, art, music, politics, aviation, photography and Manchester United. His book “Tired of all the Bad News” is now available in the Parish Bookshop.

 

As part of our Fatima Centenary devotions, we are inviting parents, godparents, grandparents and babysitters to bring their recently baptised children to a ceremony of Renewal of Baptismal Promises on Sunday 13 August 2017 from 3:00pm – 3:30pm.

Help us please to circulate this invitation to Young Families, Godparents, Grandparents and Babysitters to reconnect with their Baptismal Promises. #SharingFaith #WMOF2018

Invitations are being sent to all parents in the coming days. We invite you to join us as part of our Parish Triduum on the way towards the Feast of the Assumption.

Thanks to Orla Roche for sending on this pic of St Mary's yesterday, with a rainbow in the background. The Rainbow is mentioned in the Bible as a sign of God's promise! "I set my rainbow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the Covenant between me and the earth!" Genesis 9:13.
