Fr Declan recently welcomed Rita Keleghan and her son Peter to St Mary's as they came to explore the records of our parish.
This short video allows us to join them at the baptismal font where they revisit the care of a midwife and Rita's parents in 1926 and the parish support offered to Rita over the years. #SharingFaith "The worst ink is better than the best memory."

BLESSING OF OUR HOMES ON EPIPHANY
As we move on from the Christmas celebrations, we invite the Christ child to be with us throughout this unfolding year. There is a tradition of inviting our Lord Jesus Christ to stay with us by blessing our homes on the 6th January with chalk blessed at Mass this day. The home blessing can be done as follows:
Use the blessed chalk to write
20+C+M+B+17 above the door:
2017 for the Year of the Lord (Anno Domini) 2017A.D. C, M, B for the 3 Wise Men – Casper, Melchior, and Balthasar – also the initials for “Christus Mansionem Benedicat,” Latin for “May Christ Bless this House.”

As you are writing, pray the following prayer:
Lord God of heaven and earth, you
revealed your only-begotten Son to
every nation by the guidance of a star.
Bless this house and all who inhabit it.
Fill us with the light of Christ, that our
love for others may reflect your love for us.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
